THE FIND

The stone comes from Tu, Klepp Municipality gnr. 17, Rogaland
It came to the Museum in 1835 and has museum number B13731.
The stone is decorated with a male and a female figure and an inscription.

Size: 2.15 x 0.4 x 0.17m. The inscription is in younger runes, and is dated to the early part of the Viking Age, 900 – 1000s.
On the same farm, several thin plates of gold called "gullgubber" (little old men of gold), which show a man and a woman standing face to face, have been found, like we see it on this stone.
